The C&G 2381 will be replaced by the City and Guilds 2382 course In June 2008. Until then the C&G 2381 will be the only exam to take. The syllabus for the C&G 2382 has yet to be decided although it is expected to be very similar to the C&G 2381

This would appear to be confirmed by the fact that a course coded C&G 2382-10 will be available and will allow any student who currently has the C&G 2381 certificate to update to the C&G 2382 by taking a one day course and examination.

This will be ideal for those students who wish to miss the rush that will happen when the new C&G 2382 comes about in June 2008, so in our opinion, try and take the C&G 2381 ASAP and then sit the C&G 2382-10.

The Reason the City and Guilds 2381 is being updated to the City and Guilds 2382 is the updating of the BS 7671 wiring regulations which go from the 16th Edition with 4 amendments to the the 17th edition this Change has come about for a number of reasons one of which is to bring the regulations more into line with the IEC Standards

The C&G 2382-10 a one day course which allows C&G 2381 holders to update to the C&G 2382. You will need proof of your C&G 2381 certificate in order to sit the 2382-10
The C&G 2382-20 will be a course available to all students and can be studied without holding the 2381 certificate
